The Coast Guard requires us to have a unique Hull Identification Number (HIN) for each of our Paddlers. This is a special-purpose serial number used to identify the owner.

There are two identical HINs for each Paddler. The primary HIN is on the starboard side right above the fin (you can’t miss it!), and the secondary / hidden HIN is on the face of the Stern section, where it butts up to the Middle section.

It is hidden when the Paddler is in Operating Mode but visible when the Paddler is in Storage Mode. Be aware that some states require you to register your Paddler with the HIN before operating it on waters within the state.
